Braintree District Council’s draft local plan Reg 18 consultation ended on Friday 17th April 2026.
Given the adverse impact the proposals would have on the A1124 corridor, Wakes Colne Parish Council felt it necessary to submit a response in support of the village and its residents.

Wakes Colne Parish Council is also working in partnership with Chappel, Colne Engaine, Earls Colne, Greenstead Green, Halstead and White Colne Parish Councils (collectively, the Colne Valley Parishes) to submit a joint response to the consultation.

Preferred Options (2025 - 2041)
Seven Parish Councils of Aldham, Chappel, Copford with Easthorpe, Eight Ash Green, Great Tey, Marks Tey and Wakes Colne on the west side of Colchester, have agreed the following joint letter to Councillor Andrea Luxford Vaughan, Portfollio Holder for Planning & Sustainable Development for Colchester City Council along with a joint statement.
